14 dead in fishing boat capsize in Ukraine

     Kiev : At least 14 people on a fishing trip died when their boat capsized in the Black Sea near Ukraine’s southern port city of Odessa, authorities said on Sunday.

Sri Lanka to allow Chinese subs to visit: Wickremesinghe

     Singapore : Sri Lanka will allow future submarine visits by China provided they are not too frequent, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said in remarks published on Sunday.

“We have put out the criterion for visits by naval ships. Rail Neer racket: CBI arrests two railway officials

    New Delhi : The CBI on Sunday arrested two Indian Railways officers, Sandeep Silas and M.S. Chalia, who have been facing probe in a case relating to supply of inferior-quality packaged drinking water in premium trains.

Three injured in mini-stampede to see ‘world’s largest Durga idol’

    Kolkata : At least three people were injured in a mini stampede on Sunday as lakhs of people visited a a marquee in south Kolkata that boasted of having installed the world’s tallest idol of goddess Durga, forcing police to temporarily close down the place to visitors.
