Sharif offers new 4-point peace initiative with India


     United Nations : Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has proposed a four-point peace initiative that embraces mutually renouncing the use or threat of use of force, demilitarising Kashmir, withdrawing from the Siachen Glacier and formalising ceasefire along the Line of Control.

Ahmedabad: RTO office will be shifted to Sola area


      The main Ahmedabad regional transport office (RTO), presently situated in Subhash bridge area will be shifted to Sola area near Gujarat High Court in future.
It will be a multy story building, construction of which will take place after approval to related proposal by the state government.
A total of 19,440 sqm land has been finalized for proposed RTO office. Earlier it was proposed that district collector office will be shifted to Sola plot. Goa Police seek narco tests on Kamat, Alemao in graft case


     Panaji : Goa Police Crime Branch has sought to conduct narco-analysis test on former chief minister Digambar Kamat and the then PWD minister Churchill Alemao in the Louis Berger bribery case, an official said on Wednesday.
The state police have sought permission for the tests from the state home department. Volkswagen warned over test cheating previously

Gujarat: No rain likely this week Says IMD


     The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted no likelihood of rain this week. IMD Gujarat director Jayanta Sarkar said, “Southwesterly winds are prevailing at lower levels over the region.As a result, the sky will be mainly clear in coming days.“
According to revenue department officials, Kutch and north Gujarat region have received 100% rainfall.

India’s Khanna among three named ITF vice president


      Santiago : All India Tennis Association (AITA) president Anil Khanna, who lost in his bid for the presidency of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), has been named a vice president along with two others of the world governing body.
Khanna along with Katrina Adams (US) and Rene Stammbach (Switzerland) were named the vice presidents under new ITF president David Haggerty.
