Patidars in MP stage rallies for Hardik Patel


   Three rallies were taken out in Madhya Pradesh in support of Hardik Patel of Gujarat who has been championing the cause of Patel community for bringing it into the other backward classes (OBC) category.
The rallies were staged in Bhopal, Sihor and Rajgadh districts with participants riding motorbikes and cars.     New Delhi : Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan says she is interested in getting trained in Kathak or Bharatnatyam.

Rebel Assam Congress leader set to join BJP

12 killed in China landslide


    Beijing : At least 12 people were confirmed dead after their bodies were retrieved from the debris of a landslide that hit China’s Yunnan province about a week ago, the authorities said on Friday.

AAP legislator Surinder Singh detained


   Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Surinder Singh was detained on Friday in connection with a case relating to the beating up of an on-duty NDMC employee who was clearing footpaths illegally occupied by hawkers, police said.

Pakistan violates ceasefire in Jammu


   Jammu : Pakistan violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked at both the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said on Tuesday.
A civilian was injured in an overnight ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers on the International Border in Jammu district.
Subhash Chander, 38, received a bullet injury in his leg in R.S. Pura sector during the night, a senior police officer told IANS here.

Sensex trades flat in early trade


     A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Tuesday was trading flat at 28.06 points or 0.10 percent down during the morning session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading at 15.85 points or 0.19 percent down at 8,509.75 points.

     At least 19 people were killed and 12 others injured in a traffic accident on the national road linking the Sudanese capital Khartoum and the Northern State, the state media reported.

Stampede in temple In Jharkhand leaves 11 dead, 50 injured


    At least 11 people have been killed and 50 others injured in a stampede at a temple in Jharkhand.
The incident took place near a Durga temple at Belabagan More on Deogarh-Jassidih, about 350 kilometres from Ranchi, civil surgeon Diwakar Kamath said.
The incident occurred around 5am when the devotees tried to break the queue and ran towards the temple.

Gujarat’s Sardar Sarovar Dam Overflows at 124.30 mts


    Sardar Sarovar dam at Kevadia in Narmada district of Gujarat started overflowing today following the release of water from Omkareshwar dam in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, which is lashed by heavy rains.
Executive Engineer at the dam, A V Gajjar said, The water level (at the dam) reached 124.30 metres at 1800 hrs and is likely to increase up to 125 metres tonight. Google doodle celebrates 229th anniversary of the first ascent of Mont Blanc


     Mont Blanc or Monte Bianco, both meaning “White Mountain”, is the highest mountain in the Alps and the highest peak in Europe outside of the Caucasus range. It rises 4,807 m (15,771 ft) above sea level and is ranked 11th in the world in topographic prominence.
The mountain lies in a range called the Graian Alps, between the regions of Aosta Valley, Italy, and Haute-Savoie, France. Pakistan SC upholds military courts, rejects pleas


    The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday rejected all applications challenging the 18th and 21st constitutional amendments, ruling in favour of the establishment of military courts in the country.
A 17-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk had reserved the verdict on the 35 identical applications against the two constitutional amendments on June 27, Geo TV reported.
The bench dismissed the petitions challenging the 21st amendment with 11 judges voting to reject the pleas and six in favour.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary told the Rajya Sabha that based on information provided by Madhya Pradesh, “a total number of 34 people connected to the Vyapam issue have died between 2007 and 2015″.

27 Dead as Kamayani, Janata Express Trains Derail in MP


      Twin back-to-back train derailment took place at the same spot in Madhya Pradesh around midnight on Tuesday, killing at least 27 people.

    Openers Martin Guptill and Tom Latham both struck centuries as New Zealand crushed Zimbabwe by 10 wickets in the second one-day international in Harare on Tuesday to set up a series decider.
