Hit-And-Run Case: Maharashtra Challenges Salman Khan


    NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra government led by BJP has moved Supreme Court against Bollywood star Salman Khan’s acquittal in a 2002 hit-and-run case by the Bombay High Court in December.
“The Bombay High Court has erred in not appreciating the prosecution evidence. Most College Students Use Smartphones in Classroom: Study


     New York: Most college students surf the internet, check social media, send texts and even play games on their smartphones while in the classroom, a new study reveals.
“During the typical four years they’re in college classrooms, an average student may be distracted for two-thirds of a year,” said Barney McCoy, associate professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the US.

E-cigarettes not Helping People Quit Smoking : Study


     Electronic cigarettes that are widely promoted and used to help smokers quit traditional cigarettes are not assisting much in this task, says a new study.
A new analysis by the University of California-San Francisco has found that ‘vapers’ — dedicated enthusiasts of electronic cigarettes — are 28 percent less likely to stop smoking.

      The foreign secretary-level talks between Pakistan and India could be deferred by New Delhi, a newspaper reported on Monday.
This follows the January 2 terrorist attack on the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot in Punjab which left seven security personnel dead. Security forces killed six terrorists who were believed to be from Pakistan.

India can’t Tackle Terror with Mere Talks: Togadia


     Ahmedabad: India cannot tackle terrorism through mere talks with Pakistan, VHP’s international president Pravin Togadia said on Monday, asserting that if extremists managed to enter the highly fortified air base in Pathankot, creating havoc among common people was like a walk in the park for them.
“It is a well-known fact that terrorists come from Pakistan and we must find an appropriate solution to this problem. We can achieve nothing by holding talks. Patidar Quota Stir will Continue: Hardik Patel


     Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel on Monday said his four-month-old agitation for reservation for the Patels in government jobs and education will continue.
“Even foibaa (father’s sister) cannot prevent it,” he told reporters outside a Surat court.
