ઓબામાના ભારત પ્રવાસના કારણે પાકિસ્તાનના રાજ્યપાલનું રાજીનામું

અમેરિકાના રાષ્ટ્રપતિ બરાક ઓબામાના ભારત પ્રવાસથી ભારતની સારી પરિસ્થિતિ પાકિસ્તાનના રાજ્યપાલને હજમ ના થઈ અને તેમણે પોતાના પદ પરથી રાજીનામું આપી દીધું હતું. પાકિસ્તાનના પંજાબ પ્રાંતના રાજ્યપાલ મોહમ્મદ સરવરએ ઓબામાની ઐતિહાસિક ભારત પ્રવાસથી ચિઢાઈને રાજીનામું આપી દીધું હતું. તેમણે શરીફ સરકાર પર અમેરિકા સાથે સારા સંબંધો બનાવવામાં અસફળતાનો આરોપ લગાવતા પદ પરથી રાજીનામું આપી દીધું હતું.

સરવરે બુધવારે રાત્રે રાષ્ટ્રપતિ મમનૂન હુસેનને પોતાનું રાજીનામું આપ્યુ્ હતુ. તેમનું રાજીનામું રાષ્ટ્રપતિએ સ્વીકારી લીધું હતુ. નવી નિયુક્તિ સુધી પંજાબ વિધાનસભાના સ્પીકર રાણા ઇકબાલ કાર્યવાહક રાજ્યપાલ તરીકે કાર્યભાર સંભાળશે. સરવરે અમેરિકાના રાષ્ટ્રપતિ બરાક ઓબામાને પાકિસ્તાનમાં લાવવામાં નિષ્ફળ રહેલા વડાપ્રધાન નવાઝ શરીફની આકરી નિંદા કરી હતી.

ઓબામાના ભારત પ્રવાસ બાદ સરવરે કહ્યુ કે, ઓબામાનો ભારત પ્રવાસ પાકિસ્તાનની સરકારની નિષ્ફળતા છે. ઓબામાનો ભારતનો આ બીજો પ્રવાસ પાકિસ્તાનની વિદેશ નિતીના મોરચે મોટી નિષ્ફળતા છે. પાકિસ્તાન અમિરેકાના શીતયુધ્ધના સમયનું સાથી છે. સરવરે કરેલી ટીકા બાદ વડાપ્રધાને તેમની પાસે ખુલાસો માંગ્યો હતો. જો કે, સરવરે સ્પષ્ટતા કરવાની જગ્યાએ રાજીનામું આપ્યું હતુ.

ICC Launched a new App for World Cup 2015

The International Cricket Council (ICC), in association with Reliance Communications launched the official World Cup 2015 app, now available for free download from the Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

The app will have unique features and has been designed to enhance user experience of the World Cup. It will allow everyone to keep themselves up-to-date with all the latest news of the tournament.

It will also provide access to match centre that will keep fans abreast of the live action with the fastest source of live scores and ball-by-ball commentary. આઈઆઈટી મુંબઈના એક પૂર્વ છાત્રએ પોતાના કેટલાક સહયોગીની મદદથી હિંદીમાં સોસીયલ નેટવર્કિંગ વેબસાઈટ ”શબ્દનગરી” શરૂ કરી છે. આ સાઈટ ફેસબુકથી પ્રેરિત છે પરંતુ તેમની આખી નકલ નથી.

”શબ્દનગરી” પર તમે રાષ્ટ્રભાષા હિંદીમાં પોતાની વાર્તાઓ અને કોમેન્ટ નાખી શકો છો, સાથે જ પોતાની વિચારધારાવાળા લેખકો અને હિંદી ભાષી લોકોથી ખુબ સરળતાથી જોડાઈ શકો છો.

વર્ષ ૨૦૦૭માં આઇઆઇટી મુંબઈથી ઈલેક્ટ્રીકલ એન્જીન્યરીંગ કરનારા અને કાનપુરમાં રહેનારા અમિતેશ મિશ્રાએ કહ્યું કે તેઓએ ભણવાનું પૂરું કરી નોકરી કરી, પરંતુ તેમનું મન કૈક અલગ કરવાનું હતું. માટે તેઓએ પોતાની કંપની ખોલવાની યોજના બનાવી હતી. તેઓએ આઈઆઈટી કાનપુરમાં એસઆઈસીસી (સીડબી ઇનોવેશન એંડ એન્કયુંબેશન સેન્ટર)ની મદદથી ઇન્ક્યુંબેટેડ કંપની ”ટ્રાઈડેંટ એનાલીટીકલ સોલ્યુશન” બનાવ્યું હતું.

મિશ્રાએ કહ્યું કે કંપની બનાવવામાં સીડબીએ તેમને લગભગ ૨૫ લાખ રૂપિયાની નાણાકીય સહાયતા પ્રદાન કરી. આ કંપનીના બેનર હેઠળ બનેલી ”શબ્દનગરી” એક એવી ઈન્ટરનેટ સુવિધા છે જે હિંદીમાં મૌલિક વિચારોને પ્રોત્સાહિત કરે છે. આ મંચ પર તમે તમારી વેબસાઈટ, પેજ અને બ્લોગ હિંદીમાં બનાવી શકો છો અને પોતાની અભીરુચીના લોકો સાથે જોડાઈ શકો છો.

મિશ્રાએ કહ્યું કે તેમનું લક્ષ્ય દેશના ૬૫ કરોડ હિંદી ભાષી લોકો છે જે હિંદીમાં બોલે-લખે અને ભણે છે. તેઓ ઘણું બધું લખવા માંગે છે, કહેવા માંગે છે પરંતુ તેમના માટે કોઈ મંચ ઉપલબ્ધ નથી. હવે ‘શબ્દનગરી’ના રૂપમાં તેઓને એક એવો મંચ ઉપલબ્ધ કરાવવામાં આવ્યું છે જેની મદદથી તેઓ પોતાની રાષ્ટ્રભાષામાં પોતાની ભાવનાઓ વ્યક્ત કરી શકે છે અને સમાન વિચારધારાના લોકો સાથે જોડાઈ શકે છે.

Bird flu in Nigerian states

The Nigerian government Wednesday confirmed the outbreak of bird flu in 11 states.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Akinwumi Adesina, made the disclosure at an emergency meeting on avian influenza (bird flu) in Abuja, according to a Xinhua report.

The states affected by the outbreak of the disease were Kano, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Delta, Edo, Plateau, Gombe, Imo, Oyo and Jigawa, the minister said.

He announced that the government had approved funds to compensate farmers affected by the outbreak.

Adesina directed that the compensation should be paid to the farmers within 72 hours.

The compensation was for 39 farms across nine states where depopulation of birds was carried out as a measure to control the outbreak, he added.

According to the minister, as of Jan 21, a total of 139,505 birds were exposed to the virus with 22,173 recorded deaths and as of Jan 27, 232,385 birds were exposed, with 51,444 recorded deaths.

Adesina said that his ministry was working closely to contain the spread of bird flu.

He said that he had directed a nationwide comprehensive surveillance, quarantine, depopulation and decontamination of affected poultry farms.

Bird flu, also known as avian flu or avian influenza refers to influenza caused by viruses adapted to birds.

It has caused a global concern owing to its possible transmission to humans and the threat of a pandemic if it mutates to a form that can be easily passed from birds to humans and then, from human to human.

UN Security Council condemned Libya hotel attack

The UN Security Council strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli, Libya, which killed at least eight people.In a press statement Tuesday, the Security Council members expressed their sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims of this heinous act and wished a speedy recovery to those injured, Xinhua reported.“The members of the Security Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security, and that any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivation, wherever and whenever and by whomsoever committed,” said the statement.

The Beast : President Barack Obama's High-Tech Car

(IANS) Republic Day parade chief guest, US President Barack Obama, Monday arrived at Rajpath in his official vehicle The Beast, in a departure from tradition.

The seven-seater Beast is built on the Cadillac DTS platform and most of its details are classified for security reasons. What is known is that it incorporates a special night vision system. Special loops take the place of the regular door handles. Secret Service agents hold onto these when running alongside the car.

The car is protected against biochemical attacks and has its own oxygen supply. There is also a blood bank of the president’s blood type in the trunk.

The Beast was last here during Obama’s visit in November 2010. This might be the last time the car is seen here because by the time the next US president comes calling, another more sophisticated vehicle could have taken its place, given the rapid pace at which technology is progressing.

It’s customary for chief guests at the event to arrive and depart with the Indian president in his car from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Obama was accompanied by his wife Michelle.

President Pranab Mukherjee arrived separately at the venue shortly after.

However, the US Secret Service had told the Indian security agencies that Obama would only travel in the official vehicle of the US president.

The multi-layered bullet-proof car was flown to Delhi in a large cargo aircraft.

Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Barack Obama were meanwhile greeted with loud cheers as they arrived at Rajpath.

Modi arrived at the saluting dais after paying homage to the unknown soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate and was received by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Modi then waved at the crowd and was greeted with loud cheers.

India Gate closed to people ahead of Republic Day

The Central Reserve Police Force has been deployed at various points leading to India Gate, which stands on one end of Rajpath, the main venue for the annual parade.Entry to World War I monument India Gate was shut for people from Monday in view of heightened security for US President Barack Obama who will be the chief guest at the Republic Day parade Jan 26, police said.The roads leading to the British-built India Gate, a symbol of Delhi, have been barricaded. The Republic Day parade originates from Vijay Chowk, close to Rashtrapati Bhavan, another British-built building.The armoured and marching columns march down the tree-lined Rajpath. While the armoured contingents halt at the India Gate ground, soldiers and others who march walk all the way up to the Red Fort in Old Delhi.

Last Day Live Update: Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

The 13th edition of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas convention started in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar on Wednesday in which NRIs from over 58 countries are expected to participate.

The three-day convention marks the contribution of the overseas Indian community in the country’s development and aims at connecting India to its vast overseas diaspora and bring their knowledge, expertise and skills on a common platform.

The Pravasi Bhartiya Divas is the flagship event of Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India. 2015 is the centenary year of the return of Mahatma Gandhi to his motherland from South Africa on January 9, 1915, from where he led freedom struggle against the British.

Chief Ministers of various states will try to seek investment from NRI delegates in their respective states.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on 9th January every year to mark the contribution of Overseas Indian community in the development of India. January 9 was chosen as the day to celebrate this occasion since it was on this day in 1915 that Mahatma Gandhi, the greatest Pravasi, returned to India from South Africa, led India’s freedom struggle and changed the lives of Indians forever.

Where are ‘Achche Din’ if Commuters face Problems?

The Shiv Sena mocked the Centre’s promise of “achche din” and asked where are the good days assured to the people.

Criticising authorities over handling of commuter rage and breakdown of suburban train services last week.

On Friday, Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ said, “It is true that there were protests and they had turned violent. But neither the police nor the authorities are willing to probe what led the people to turn violent.”

Also added, “If similar incidents, that had taken place during the Congress rule, continue abated, who exactly is experiencing ‘achche din’ (days of good governance)?” it sought to know.

“Those (political parties) who thought that law should be taken into one’s own hands when they were not in power, have their government now.

If these protests were a result of people’s frustration towards administration, we need to ensure it doesn’t become a cause of law and order breakdown,” the Sena, which is part pf the ruling BJP-led alliance at teh Centre and Maharashtra, said.

“Will anyone from the railways be arrested for this mishap. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu launched the mobile ticket service. But if trains do not move after people buy their tickets, there will be anger among people,” the editorial further said.

It said, The breakdown of suburban rail services led to many people’s work schedules going haywire and students appearing for exams had to bear the brunt of the failure on part of the railways.

The trouble further compounded when motormen went on a flash strike after a motorman of a local train got injured in stone pelting by protesters, leaving thousands of people stranded.

વર્ષ ૨૦૧૪માં રાષ્ટ્રીય રાજકારણના પાંચ ટર્નીંગ પોઈન્ટ

ભારતીય રાજકારણના ઈતિહાસમાં એક દ્રષ્ટિએ જોઈએ તો સમગ્ર વર્ષ માત્ર એક જ વ્યક્તિ આધારીત રહી છે. તે પણ નમો. એક સમયે ચા વેચવાનો વ્યવસાય કરતા નરેન્દ્ર મોદી દેશના વડાપ્રધાન બન્યા. તેમજ ભાજપ સતામાં આવી. કોંગ્રેસની કારમી હાર, હિન્દુત્વનો પુન: ઉદય, અરવિદ કેજરીવાલની ચડતી પડતી અને રાજ્યોના સ્થાનિક દળોનુ ઘટતું પ્રભુત્વ જેવા મુદ્દા વર્ષ દરમ્યાન હાવી રહ્યા હતા.

આવો જાણીએ દેશની પાંચ મહત્વની રાજકીય ઘટનાઓ

૧. ‘નમો’ નો ઉદય

ગુજરાતમાં વર્ષ ૨૦૦૨ના તોફાનો માટે હમેશા જવાબદાર ઠેરવવામાં આવેલા નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ વર્ષ ૨૦૧૪ની લોકસભાની ચુંટણીમાં ભાજપને બહુમતી અપાવી અને દેશના સર્વોચ્ય એવા વડાપ્રધાન પદ મેળવ્યું. મોદીએ પોતાની જાતને સાબિત કરી બતાડી અને દેશ નહી અને પછી વિદેશમાં પણ પોતાની કાબેલિયત સાબિત કરી બતાડી. તેમજ ચુંટણી દરમ્યાન કરેલા કેટલાંક વાયદા પણ પૂર્ણ કર્યા.

૨. હિન્દુત્વવાદનો પુન: ઉદય

દેશના વીએચપી,ભાજપ અને આરએસએસ ભાજપ સતામાં આવતા જે પુન હિન્દુત્વનો રાગ આલાપવાણી શરુઆત કરી દીધી છે. તેથી સાંપ્રદાયિક ભારતની છાપ ધીરે ધીરે ભુંસાઈ જશે. જેમાં સૌ પ્રથમ યુપીના લવ જેહાદથી તેની શરુઆત થઈ હતી.જો કે ત્યાર બાદ મોહન ભાગવતે સમયાંતરે હિન્દુત્વની વાતો તાજી કરાવી અને આખરે સુષમા સ્વરાજે ગીતાને રાષ્ટ્રીય ગ્રંથ જાહેર કરવાની માંગ કરી ત્યારર્થી હિન્દુત્વનો મુદો ચર્ચામાં છે અને ત્યારબાદ આગ્રાના ધર્માંતરણના મુદાએ ભારતીય રાજકારણને હોબાળો કરવા પર મજબુર કર્યો હતો. તેમજ ભાજપના સાંસદ નિરંજના ભારતીએ પણ આ મુદ્દે બેટિંગ કરી હતી. વીએચપીએ સમગ્ર ભારતને હિંદુ રાષ્ટ્ર જાહેર કરવાની માંગ કરી હતી. જો કે આ અંગે ઇસ્કોનમાં કમલલોચન દાસે જણાવાયું હતું કે વીએચપી ભારતમાં કટ્ટરતા ફેલાવી રહી છે.

૩. દેશમાં વંશવાદી રાજકારણનો અંત

વર્ષની શરુઆતમાં રાહુલ ગાંધીને અંગ્રેજી ચેનલ પર ઇન્ટરવ્ય આપતા જોયા હશે. જેમાં રાહુલ ગાંધીનું એગ્રેશન જોવા મળ્યું હતું. પરતું વર્ષ ૨૦૧૪ની લોકસભા ચુંટણીએ આ તમામ વસ્તુને ફેરવી તોળી અને ૧૩૦ વર્ષ જૂની કોંગ્રેસ પહેલીવાર માત્ર ૪૪ બેઠકો સાથે પરાજિત થઈ એટલું જ નહી પરંતુ ત્યારબાદ રાજ્યોમાં પણ અન્ય ચુંટણીમા કોંગ્રેસનો પરાજય થયો. જેન ભારતીય રાજકારણમાં વંશવાદી રાજકારણના અંત તરીકે જોવામાં આવે છે.

૪. “મફલરમેન” અરવિંદ કેજરીવાલની ચડતી અને પડતી

અરવિંદ કેજરીવાલનો ઉદય અને તેનો અંત આ વર્ષની મહત્વપૂર્ણ રાજ્કીય ઘટના છે. એક કોમન મેને શરુ કરેલા ભ્રષ્ટ્રાચાર વિરોધી અભિયાન શરુ કરીને દિલ્હીમાં મુખ્યમંત્રી પદ સુધી પહોચ્યા. પરંતુ વધુ રાજકીય આકાંક્ષાએ મોદી સામે વારાણસીમાં ચુંટણી લડ્યા અને આખરે હારવાનો વારો આવ્યો. એટલે કે બાવાના બે બગડ્યા દિલ્હીમાં માત્ર ૪૯ દિવસ મુખ્યમંત્રી રહ્યા અને રાજકારણથી બહાર ફેંકાયા. જો કે આ બધા વચ્ચે કેજરીવાલ ફરીથી દિલ્હીમાં ચુંટણી લડવાના છે જોવું રહ્યું કે લોકો તેમની પર ફરી કેટલો વિશ્વાસ કરશે.

૫. રાજ્યની સ્થાનિક પક્ષોના અંતની શરુઆત

વર્ષ ૨૦૧૪ સામાન્ય રીતે રાજ્યના રાજકારણમાં સક્રિય પક્ષો માટે નિરાશાજનક રહ્યું હતું. જેમાં પણ રાષ્ટ્રીય પક્ષ તરીકે ભાજપના વધતા પ્રભાવે વિવિધ રાજ્યોના સ્થાનિક પક્ષોને નબળા પાડ્યા હતા. જેમાં પણ મહારાષ્ટ્ર શિવસેના અને હરિયાણામાં આઈએનએલડી જેવા સ્થાનિકો પક્ષોના અસ્તિત્વ પર વિધાનસભા ચુંટણી બાદ ભય ઉભો થયો છે. તેવી જ રીતે જમ્મુ કાશ્મીરમાં નેશનલ કોન્ફરસ અને ઝારખંડમાં ઝારખંડ મુક્તિ મોરચોએ પોતાનો પ્રભાવ ગુમાવ્યો છે. તેમજ એ વાત પણ સાબિત થઈ કે મહારાષ્ટ્રમાં માત્ર મરાઠી પક્ષ જ સત્તા રહેશે તેવો ભ્રમ ખોટો નીકળ્યો. જો કે આ ઉપરાંત આગામી વર્ષે બિહાર, ઉત્તરપ્રદેશ અને પશ્ચિમ બંગાળમાં પણ વિધાનસભા ચુંટણી યોજનારી છે. તેવા સમયે લાલુ પ્રસાદ યાદવ, નીતીશ કુમાર, મુલાયમસિંહ યાદવ અને દીદી મમતા બેનર્જી પણ ભાજપના વધતી લોકપ્રિયતાનો શિકાર બને તેવી શક્યતા છે.
