Several NDRF, BSF, IAF and Indian Army teams have joined efforts to expedite relief and rescue operations and more are expected to join tomorrow.     DHAKA: Dale Steyn became the second South African bowler to take 400 Test wickets after he dismissed Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal on the opening day of the second Test in Dhaka on Thursday.

At Rs 241 crores, the film’s collections at the domestic box office are higher than what SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali made in the corresponding period.

15 dead in Somalia hotel blast


   Mogadishu : At least 15 people, including a Chinese national, have died in a hotel blast in this Somali capital.
Police officer Abdulle Mohamed said that a suicide bomber detonated his car at the gate of the hotel and killed 15 people, with most of them civilians, Xinhua reported.

     Even a placebo with no medical value can ease pain in research participants, finds a study.
“We’re still learning a lot about the critical ingredients of placebo effects. What we think now is that they require both belief in the power of the treatment and experiences that are consistent with those beliefs,” said senior author Scott Schafer from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Suruc blast: 20-year-old Turkish student was suicide bomber


   Turkish officials have said that a 20-year-old student from the country’s south-eastern province of Adiyaman was the suicide bomber who killed 32 people in Suruc on Monday.

Ladakh-Srinagar highway partially closed


   New Delhi: In Jammu and Kashmir, the 434-km long Srinagar-Ladakh national highway connecting Ladakh with Kashmir is not completely through for vehicular traffic, as the landslide debris at Kullan and Gagngir could has not been cleared completely.
The traffic on the highway remained affected for almost five days till yesterday barring one day of reopening.

    A court here on Tuesday issued summons to former minister of state for coal Santosh Bagrodia and ex-coal secretary H.C. Gupta in a coal block allocation case involving Rajya Sabha member Vijay Darda.
Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Judge Bharat Parashar issued summons to Bagrodia, Gupta and the ministry’s then section officer L.S. Award for rehabilitating Nepal


    The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) based here has been awarded the Humanitarian GIS Award for its rehabilitation work after the massive earthquake in Nepal in April 25.
The award was announced at the 2015 International User Conference of the Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) in the US on Monday.

China’s industrial sector faces pressure: Official


    Beijing : China’s industrial sector still faces considerable downward pressure although positive signs have emerged due to government support policies, authorities said on Wednesday.
“Some regions, industries and businesses are facing increasing difficulties, and strong efforts are needed to stabilize and improve industrial operations,” Xinhua quoted Ministry of Industry and Information Technology spokesman Zhang Feng as saying.

Curfew imposed in Jamshedpur after clashes


    Ranchi: A curfew has been imposed in Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur city, the home town of Chief Minister Raghubar Das, after two communities clashed over the alleged harassment of a girl, police said on Wednesday.

Magnitude 4.1 Earthquake Shakes San Francisco Bay Area


    Authorities say a magnitude 4.1 earthquake rattled the San Francisco Bay Area in California, but no injuries or property damage was immediately reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. UN Security Council nod to Iran nuclear deal


     The United Nations Security Council on Monday endorsed a deal to curb Iran’s nuclear program in return for sanctions relief, but it will be able to re-impose U.N. penalties during the next decade if Tehran breaches the historic agreement.
The 15-member body unanimously adopted a resolution that was negotiated as part of the agreement reached in Vienna last week between Iran and the world’s major powers.

Sensex down 95 points in early trade


   A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday was trading 94.63 points or 0.33 percent down during the morning session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 35.15 points or 0.41 percent down at 8,574.70 points.

BJP chief ministers meet Amit Shah


      Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Wednesday met chief ministers of all party-ruled states.

3 civilians injured after Pak violates ceasefire in J&K’s RS Pura, Shahpur sector


     Over three villagers were severely injured, after Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing in RS Pura sector and Shahpur sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir today.
Those injured have been admitted to a local hospital.

Grumpy Gorilla Tells It Like It Is By Flipping Off Zoo Visitor


      This grumpy gorilla is creating a stir across the Internet after shocking visitors at the Bristol Zoo in England.
Known for being very good at expressing their feelings, this gorilla was no exception – he decided to give a photographer the bird by flipping his middle finger when the 67-year-old man, Bob Pritchford, too his picture.
Pritchford was happily strolling along at the zoo when he spotted the large animal chewing on some grass.
