Incremental compensation has been demanded by the Gujarat government from the Centre in proportion to the revenue loss which the state treasure is likely to bear when the goods & service tax (GST) regime comes into power.
An official report geared up by the state commercial tax department and suggested recently to the Union finance ministry says that Gujarat will directly mislay Rs 10,800 crore per annum from 2016-17, if the GST regime is implemented.
